“일본 전쟁범죄 면죄부 주는 것”

일본은 제국주의의 거대 국가권력을 이용하여, 전쟁을 일으키고, 그 것도 모자라 전쟁터에 ‘위안소’를 만들어 여성을 전쟁의 도구로 이용한, 인권유린 가해국이자 범죄국이다. A급 전범 용의자 기시 노부스케(岸信介)는 일본 아베 총리의 외조부이다.

아베 총리의 상하원 합동연설은 일본의 침략전쟁을 정당화 시키고, 일본군 ‘성노예’ 피해자들의 인권유린을 합법화 시키는 것이다. 다시 말해 미국이 존중하는 인권 가치와 사회 정의를 부정하는 역사수정 주의자 일본 아베 총리의 상하원 합동 연설을 반대한다.

미국은 기억하는가? 1941년 12월 7일 미국 하와이 주의 오아후 섬 펄 하버(진주만)에 정박해 있던 미 태평양 함대를 일본이 기습 공격한 사건을 미국은 모르는가?

일본은 진주만에 정박한 미국의 태평양 함대를 무력화시키기 위해 선전포고 없이 진주만을 선제공격하였다. 미국 전함 가운데 5척이 격침되고, 200여 대의 항공기가 파괴되었으며 2,000명 이상이 사망하였다.

2015년 4월 29일. 아베총리를 미국 상하원 연설에 초청한, 존 베이너(John Boehner) 미국 하원의장은 지금도 늦지 않았다. <일본군 ‘성노예’ 피해자>들에게 공식사죄 없이는 미국 상하원 합동 연설을 할 수 없다는 것을 일본 아베 총리에게 분명한 태도와 자세로 이야기하기 바란다. 상하원 합동 연설은 미국 정부가 일본의 전쟁 범죄에 대해 면죄부를 주는 것이다.

일본 아베 총리는 전 세계를 향해, 일본이 거대 국가권력을 이용하여 침략 전쟁을 일으켰고, 조직적이고 계획적으로 전쟁터에 ‘위안소’를 설치한 전쟁범죄임을 인정해야 한다. 아베 총리가 생존해 계시는<일본군 ‘성노예’ 피해자>들에게 공식 사죄하는 것이, 진정한 세계평화를 정착시키고, 동아시아의 안정을 추구하는 것이다.

2015년 3월 27일 아베총리는 미국언론과의 인터뷰에서 <일본군 ‘위안부’ 피해자> 문제는 인신매매 업자들이 저지른 범죄이며, 인신매매의 희생자라고 왜곡을 하고 있다. 이러한 망언과 망발은 일본정부가 저지른 전쟁 범죄 문제의 본질을 왜곡하고 있다.

Objection to Japanese Prime Minister Abe’s Address at the Joint Meeting of Congress(일본 아베 총리, 미국 상하원 연설을 반대한다)

Japan is a nation with a proven history of committing war crimes like when it used its massive imperialistic state powers to initiate war (WWII), and having gone so far as to assaulting and violating human rights when it set up “comfort stations” at battlefields to use women as tools of war. A Class A suspected war criminal named, Kishi Nobusuke (岸信介), was actually Japanese Prime Minister Abe’s maternal grandfather.

Prime Minister Abe’s address at the Joint Meeting of Congress will include justification of Japan’s war of aggression, and the legalization of the human rights violations the Japanese “sexual slavery” victims suffered. In response to this finding, there should be strong objection to Prime Minister Abe’s address that will attempt to rewrite world history, as well as deny and threaten the very existence of human rights and social justice Americans strongly respect and value.

Does America remember?

Let us not forget the date which will live in infamy when the Empire of Japan ambushed the American Pacific fleet anchored at Pearl Harbor on Oahu Island, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941.

Japan preemptively struck Pearl Harbor without any declaration of war in order to incapacitate the American Pacific fleet that was anchored at Pearl Harbor. America suffered huge casualties on that fateful day: 5 American warship vessels were sunk, about 200 aircrafts were destroyed, and over 2,000 human lives were lost.

Fast forward to present day: April 29, 2015. It is not too late for Speaker John Boehner, the Speaker of the House who invited Prime Minister Abe to speak, to play a significant role in history. We request that the Speaker of the House holds a clear, strong stance against Prime Minister Abe giving his address at the Joint Meeting of Congress until he offers a formal apology to the victims of Japanese sexual slavery.

Japanese Prime Minister Abe should face the world and confess that Imperial Japan used its state powers to cause war, and admit to its war crimes of systematically and deliberately setting up “comfort stations” at battlefields. Japanese Prime Minister Abe offering a formal apology to the surviving victims of Japanese sexual slavery will bring us all one step closer to world peace and help establish stability in East Asia.
